“Free Lover” Selected for Esteemed Cobb International Film Festival

Atlanta, GA – June 2024– Victoria lynn Weston’s film short, “Free Lover,” has been officially selected to screen at the esteemed Cobb International Film Festival, taking place from August 1st through 4th. This prestigious event, now in its tenth year, will showcase an array of exceptional films from around the globe.

“Free Lover” tells the true story of Victoria Woodhull, a courageous young woman driven by a childhood vision who campaigns for the US presidency on a platform of “free love.” Set in 1870, Woodhull’s journey takes a dramatic turn when her campaign exposes the secrets of a prominent preacher, leading to unforeseen consequences. Woodhull’s groundbreaking achievement as the first woman nominated to run for US President, despite the era’s lack of women’s voting rights, marks a historic moment. Guided by her spiritual mentor, Demosthenes, Woodhull’s visionary spirit and relentless pursuit challenge the norms of her time, making her story truly remarkable.

Produced and directed by Victoria lynn Weston, “Free Lover” features award-winning Atlanta actress Christina Leidel as Victoria Woodhull and Beau Blanchard as the antagonist, Reverend Henry Ward Beecher. The film has garnered several previous awards for Best Director, Best Actress, Best Set Design, and more.
